Frame Fit Model

Updated this week

Try it for yourself: Frame Fit Demo

Frame Fit is a purpose-built pricing system engineered specifically for frame-based signage where the cost is determined entirely by the frame dimensions rather than the complexity of the text content. Unlike traditional letter-by-letter pricing models, Frame Fit calculates prices using either:

This model is perfect for lightbox signs, panel displays, board signs, and any signage where the manufacturing cost scales with the frame area (CM²) or volume (CM³) rather than individual letter specifications. The system provides instant pricing updates as customers adjust frame dimensions, whilst maintaining complete flexibility for text content within the frame boundaries.

How to Access Frame Fit

Setting Up Frame Fit Pricing

  1. Navigate to the admin dashboard for your platform

  2. Select "create new customiser"

  3. Go through the onboarding process of creating a customiser

  4. On the step where it asks about model choice select Frame Fit.

  5. Complete the remaining steps and save your new customiser

Customer Experience with Frame Fit

  1. Customers select frame dimensions using either:

    - Predefined size options from your configured size list

    - Custom dimension input for width, height, and length measurements (if volumetric)

  2. Price updates automatically as frame size changes using the area (CM²) or volume (CM³) calculation

  3. Text content can be modified freely without affecting the price

  4. Font selection and styling options remain available for customisation

  5. Final price displays the calculated frame area (CM²) or volume (CM³) cost plus any additional fees

Purpose-Built for Frame Signs

Frame Fit addresses the unique requirements of frame-based signage manufacturing where traditional letter-by-letter pricing doesn't align with production costs. This model recognises that for many sign types, the primary cost driver is the frame material and size rather than text complexity.

Perfect for these sign types:

  • Lightbox Signs: Cost driven by frame dimensions and lighting requirements

  • Panel Displays: Substrate material costs scale with frame area (CM²)

  • Board Signs: Wooden or acrylic boards priced by square area

  • Plate Signs: Aluminium or metal plates where material cost follows area

Manufacturing alignment:

  • Raw material costs scale directly with frame area (CM²) or volume (CM³)

  • Text application (vinyl cutting, digital printing) often has flat-rate labour costs

  • Frame construction and finishing processes depend on perimeter and area

  • Shipping costs correlate with frame dimensions (width, height, length) rather than text complexity.

Area and Volume-Based Pricing System

Frame Fit uses a straightforward area calculation that provides transparent pricing for both you and your customers:

Core formulas:

Pricing tiers support: Configure multiple pricing levels based on frame size ranges:

  • Small frames (up to 60cm × 60cm × 10cm): Higher rate per cm² or cm³ for precision work

  • Medium frames (60cm - 120cm): Standard rate for typical applications

  • Large frames (120cm+): Reduced rate per cm² or cm³ for bulk material efficiency

Real-time calculation: Prices update instantly as customers adjust frame dimensions, providing immediate feedback on cost implications of size changes.

Transparent breakdown: Customers see exactly how their frame dimensions translate to cost, including:

  • Frame width, height, and length measurements (if volumetric)

  • Calculated area in square centimetres (CM²) or volume in cubic centimetres (CM³)

  • Applied rate per cm² or cm³

  • Total frame cost

Frame Fit incorporates intelligent size boundaries that align with your manufacturing capabilities and material constraints:

Dimensional constraints:

- Width limits: Configure maximum frame width based on material availability

- Height limits: Set height restrictions based on production equipment

- Length limits: Set depth restrictions for volumetric calculations

- Combined limits: Establish area or volume limits for extremely large frames

- Minimum and maximum sizes: Define smallest economical frame dimensions

Customer Experience

Frame Fit delivers an intuitive pricing experience that builds confidence through transparency:

Framefit size selection:

  • Preset size buttons: Customers can quickly click predefined frame sizes optimised for your production

  • Custom dimension input fields: Customers enter exact measurements directly into frontend input fields:

    - Width input field (centimetres)

    - Height input field (centimetres)

    - Length input field (centimetres, for volumetric pricing)

  • Real-time validation: Input fields validate dimensions against your configured limits

  • Visual feedback: Preview updates instantly showing frame proportions and scale

Getting Started

For sign makers: Frame Fit is ideal when your manufacturing costs are driven primarily by frame material and size rather than text complexity. Consider this model if you produce lightboxes, panel signs, or any frame-based signage where labour costs for text application are relatively fixed regardless of content complexity.

Configuration requirements:

  • Define your price per square centimetre (CM²) or cubic centimetre (CM³) based on material costs

  • Set appropriate dimensional limits (width, height, length) that match your capabilities

  • Configure size tiers if you offer different rates for different frame size ranges

  • Choose between flat parcel (CM²) or volumetric parcel (CM³) based on your products

  • Test the pricing with typical customer requirements to ensure profitability

Customer onboarding: Frame Fit's transparent area-based (CM²) or volume-based (CM³) pricing helps customers understand exactly what they're paying for, building trust through clear cost calculations tied directly to frame dimensions.
