Request Essential Information – Simple Letter Model

This guide explains how to collect the information you need from your manufacturer to set up the Simple Letter Model customiser.

Step 1: Choose Your Manufacturer

Your supplier is responsible for producing the signs and shipping them to your customers. We have compelled a comprehensive list of professional sign manufacturers around the world from which to choose from here: Find Sign Makers.

In the Find Sign Makers website, you will find what the suppliers specialize in, shipping zones. Use there contact details to send them a message.

Step 2: Create a Copy of the Essential Information Sheet

We provide a sample sheet that you can fill in and send to your supplier. Your supplier can, in turn, fill it out with pricing, sizes and font details. To get started, follow these steps:

2.1 Make Your Copy

  1. Go to FileMake a copy.

  2. Name your file.

This will be the version you send to your supplier.

2.2 Add Your Fonts

Before sending the sheet, you will need to add the following:

  • Replace the example fonts in the sheet with your own (Font column).

  • Provide a preview so the supplier can see how the font looks like (Preview column).

  • Provide a link to your fonts so that your supplier can check measurements and calculate prices. If you cannot provide a link, you can attach the font files instead in your email.

Note: ensure that your font is compatible with our customiser. You can test it by uploading it on our customiser and see if it is visible on the storefront.

2.3 Add Your Sizes

In the Size tab within your sheet:

  • Add each size label (e.g Small, Medium).

  • Enter the fixed width or height for each size in centimetres.

  • Set your store's currency.

Your supplier will use this information when calculating pricing.

2.4 Send the File to Your Supplier

Once you have added your data you are ready to send the sheet to your supplier. Follow the steps below to create a shareable link.

Steps to Get a Shareable Link:

  1. Open your Google Sheet.

  2. Click the Share button in the top-right corner.

  3. Under General access, make sure Anyone with the link is selected from the dropdown menu.

  4. Choose the access level: Editor.

  5. Click Copy link.

  6. Click Done and then paste the link in the email to share it.

You can use the email template below when sending your message.

Subject: Request for Custom Neon Sign Information

Dear [Supplier Name],

I hope this email finds you well. I am reaching out because I am interested in creating a custom neon sign for my business using the Sign Customiser app. To do so, I need to obtain certain information from you, including pricing and shipping details, the font specifications.

To make things easy, I have created a copy of the essential information sheet file that you can fill in with the necessary details. You can access the sheet file at this link: [insert link to sheet file]. Please fill in the required information and email it back to me as soon as possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Thank you for your help in creating this custom neon sign for my business.

Step 3: Create Your Simple Letter Model Customiser

Once your supplier returns the completed sheet, you can set up your customiser using that data.

Below is where each part of the sheet will be used.

3.1 Add sizes

Use the size information from the sheet's Character and lines tab in the file to add sizes in your customiser.

3.2 Add Pricing

Use the sheet's Price tab to enter the following for each size:

  • Base price per line

  • Price per character

You may need to create multiple pricing rules if the supplier divided your fonts into different tiers with different prices.

3.3 Add Fonts

Upload your fonts and assign them to their pricing tier using the supplier's tier information.

Step 4: Test Your Pricing

After you finish setting up, test each of your fonts and sizes to ensure the correctly match your supplier's information.

You can use the price breakdown feature to see how the final price is calculated:

  1. Open Preview mode.

  2. Click Show Price Calculation button.

  3. A popup will appear showing how the total price is calculated.
