Backboards: Setting Up User-Uploaded Backboard Images

This guide will show you how you can set up your customiser to enable your customers to upload their images for backboards.

How to Enable User-Uploaded Backboard Images

  1. Go to the Sign Customiser admin
  2. Click on "Customisers" in home page menu
  3. Click on the customiser you wish to edit
  4. From the left-hand menu, click Backboard.
  5. Select an existing backboard or create a new backboard type.

    Note: User image uploads are only available for these backboard types: Board, Box, Stand, and Custom Shape.

  6. In the backboard type setting, tick the checkbox labeled Allow user to upload image for backboard. If you prefer to hide the uploaded image from appearing in the visualizer, untick the Show image on the visualizer checkbox.

5. Save your changes.


How It Works for Users

1. Customers can select a compatible backboard type: Board, Box, Stand, or Custom Shape.

2. A box labeled Upload your own image will appear.

3. Customers can upload an image and adjust it to fit their design.

Changing Language/Text for Custom Backboard Option

To customize the text displayed for the custom backboard option follow these steps:

  1. Open the Sign Customiser app and navigate to Language from the left-side menu.

  1. Scroll down to the section labeled Custom Backboard Images.

  1. Replace the default text with your custom text.
  2. Click Save to apply your changes.

The maximum file size allowed for custom backboard uploads is 2 MB.
