How to Translate into Multiple Languages in Shopify

Before translating, ensure your Sign Customiser for the primary language is fully set up with the correct configurations. To translate it into multiple languages, you’ll need an external translation app that supports translating both "pages" and "templates," along with any other components outside of our app.

The Sign Customiser app cannot be translated using external translation apps. However, you can translate individual customisers into specific languages. This allows you to create multiple customisers, each tailored to a different language (e.g., a "French" Sign Customiser for French). Follow this guide to learn more.

How to Create a Sign Customiser in a Different Language

  1. Start by duplicating the Sign Customiser you have set up for your primary language.

  1. Since external translation apps cannot translate the customiser, manually translate the text within the duplicate. All settings will remain the same, but the text needs to be updated to the appropriate language.

Follow this guide to update the words and phrases in your customiser.

  2. Once you’ve created the page and template for your primary language (if needed, follow this guide), you can use your translation app to translate the following components:

Pages: Follow your translation app’s instructions to translate the text.

Templates: Update the Customiser ID to match the version for the language you're translating into.

For example, if your primary store language is English and you are adding a Swedish Sign Customiser, replace the English Customiser ID with the Swedish version.
