Why is my pricing very different from my competitor's sign customiser

One of the biggest misunderstandings about neon letter signs is how the prices and sizes can differ from the current version compared to competitors. The issue always comes down to the following points.

  • You are actually using a different font file than their competitor, but they think it's the same because the shapes are "similar." to understand if your font is in fact the same, Follow these instructions.
  • The pricing model differs from the one you are currenltly using when compared to your competition. Sign Customiser has three unique letter models that accommodate almost all manufacturing scenarios. However, the competitor could be using a version that is not built by Sign Customiser and, therefore, employing a different pricing or sizing strategy.

How to ensure that I am using the same font file as my competitor

Downloading the same font file as your competitor is the best way to ensure you are using the same font file, but finding that font file from the font foundry that made that font can be tricky as the name of the font has most likely been changed.

To compare your font with your competitors to ensure it is the same, do the following.

  1. Load your competitors' site with their customiser open in one browser tab
  2. and load your customiser in another browser tab
  3. On both tabs enter in the same characters e.g. "abcdefghijkelmnopqrstuvqxyz"
  4. Now go through and study each each letter letter by letter and ensure all bends and shapes of each letter are exactly the same. If there is a slight difference, then they are not the same font.
